Fenugreek Leaves (Methi) Sabzi

Leafy Green vegetables play an important role in Indian Cuisine.They are an important part of a healthy diet. A squre meal can not be complete without them.So eating them is highly recommended by Doctors, health experts , etc.










Today we are going to make one of the famous leafy green vagetable and that is Fenugreek Leaves Sabzi commonly known as Methi ki Sabzi.There are two types of methi.One is with small leaves and smaller tender stems and  the another is with large leaves and longer stems.Today we are going to use the 2nd type of this vegetable.Let us have a look for ingredients..


Ingredients: 

Fenugreek Leaves plucked from stems and chopped finely   - 5 bowls 
Onions large size - 2 nos
Fresh coconut grated - 2 to 3 tablespoons
Garlic and green chilly paste - 1 tablespoon
Cooking oil - 4 tablespoons
Salt - to taste


Method:

Heat oil in a kadhai .The gas flame should be low to medium.Add Garlic and green chilly paste and fry till the garlic gets golden colour.If you want you may add turmeric and cumin powder at this stage.Do not let it burn.Now add the chopped onions and salt and saute till the onions are translucent.Now add the chopped Fenugreek Leaves ( methi) and mix nicely. All ingredients should be mixed together.Let Methi cook with a closed lid.You have to check the sabzi in between as there are the chances of sticking the sabzi to the bottom.So keep stirring from the bottom after every 1 to 2 minutes.The sabzi does not get too much time to get cooked.Now open the lid and switch off the flame.Add fresh grated coconut and mix it again. Now the nutritious sabzi is ready !
Including this sabzi makes the squre meal.So try it.
